It does look fearsome, right? Anyway, we just felt like this kind of virtual representation of Star Trek's cheesy ape-like creatures with a nasty bit deserved some kind of recognition, and here it is.Īnything that can serve as worthy competition to the Borg commands respect. This generically named race of three-legged aliens are all-around badasses, with all kinds of natural resistances, biological star ships, and plenty of ways to rip apart their enemies. We'll see how beings from fluidic space fare against all the other crazy creatures the Spore community has come up with so far once the game launches. ![]() So the first time the Gorn showed up (Star Trek's "Arena" episode), they didn't exactly look convincing. The reptilian species has gone on to enjoy quite a bit of popularity amongst Star Trek fans, and Spore players clearly plan on expanding that degree of fame with creations like this one. Hopefully someone creates a Captain Kirk race to keep these guys on their toes. Seems like people are anticipating Spore's vehicle creator. This user's made a nice representation of one of the Klingon's most recognizable star ships. It won't be firing any cannons in the game, or really doing much at all. But we wouldn't want to get in the way of an army of these things clambering clumsily up a slope to try and conquer my civilization. One of the more famous episodes from the original Star Trek run featured these furry little menaces. There's a bunch of them up on the Sporepedia, but this one seems to best replicate how they looked in the show. Maybe these guys can be customized so dropping them on an enemy planet soon consumes food as they rapidly reproduce. Star Trek's green-skinned women needed representation here. While the Spore creature model doesn't really get across the sexual draw and manipulative power Orion females purportedly possess, it still gets the job done. We can only assume their in-game charm rating will be through the roof. An all-female Orion planet may prove to be a tricky one to conquer. ![]() There are a bunch of examples of attempts to replicate Star Fleet's ships on the Sporepedia, but we found this one clearly stood out among the rest. Here's an example of excellent attention to detail and fairly accurate modeling of Star Trek's USS Enterprise from the original run. Imagine a whole civilization of little Enterprises running around, then piling into an Enterprise vehicle when it comes time to travel. We've got to give top honors to the person who spends the time to craft Patrick Stewart's head in such detail. It actually looks pretty good, or at least as good as Spore creatures can look when it comes to mimicking realistic human features. We're pretty sure Captain Pickard didn't show quite that much shoulder in The Next Generation, though.
